For the first time ever, both our light and dark hejhej-mats are completely sold out.
To be honest, this is exactly what we always wanted to avoid. However, as a small, self-funded company without external investors, some situations cannot be completely prevented. And that's precisely why we want to openly share with you today why there is currently no stock left and what that actually means.
What's behind our production
In recent years, we have repeatedly faced financial challenges. One of the biggest concerns our production.
Our hejhej-mats are not produced continuously in small quantities, but in large production runs that we have to finance completely in advance. Smaller productions are unfortunately not possible. We rent the production facility by the day, and at the same time, minimum order quantities apply to our suppliers.
In concrete terms, this means: We have to produce at least about 1,000 mats per color, which means a total of about 2,000 mats per production run. For us, this is an enormous step every single time.
This time, we simply couldn't finance the next production earlier. We had to wait until almost all mats from the last run were sold. And even now, pre-financing remains a big burden.
In addition, we are a comparatively small partner for our suppliers. This unfortunately also means longer delivery times, and we don't always have top priority.
Why we still want to be transparent
To be honest: We were afraid of being completely sold out, because this also means no revenue from mats during these weeks and potentially loosing partners who urgently need mats right now.
Initially, we even considered not talking about it at all. But in the end, transparency felt more right to us. Because that's part of running a small business and producing yoga equipment yourself.
For us, sustainability means not only transparent materials and fair production, but also honestly talking about challenges.
Production run number 18 starts now
Now it’s time for production round number 18, we just finished two days of producing new mats and we need your support for this.
You can now pre-order your newly produced hejhej-mat and are expected to receive it by mid-June.
Why our price is changing
We haven't increased our production prices for many years. However, the costs for materials, production, and suppliers have increased multiple times in the meantime.
We really wanted to keep our prices stable for as long as possible. But now an adjustment is necessary so that we can cover our costs and continue our work in the long term.
As always, our entire pricing calculation remains transparent – even for the hejhej-mat. Because transparency is a central component of true sustainability for us.
Therefore, as soon as the new mats are back in stock, the hejhej-mat will cost € 155.
